Schwarz Family
The scrapbook is named "Life in the Army" and was presumably created for Albert's family by Albert himself, it is understandable that there is not much family featured in its pages. The "furlough", or the time off given to military members, is a section of the scrapbook that gives readers a glimpse into the Schwarz family; particularly Albert's mother, father, and three sisters. Most of the images in this section were taken in Brooklyn, New York in 1943. It is incredibly evident how deeply Albert cared for his family as not only did he make this scrapbook for them, but he included many images of them in it as well.
