Sept. 30- I have a two day rest from
my classes- going back Saturday.
Being one of the instructors keeps
me pretty busy.
Teaching a gang of artillery men 30
cal. machine gun and Thompson
Sub. M.G.
10-12. 42
Oct. 1- Expect to pull out of here
anytime after the 6th and will go to
California. Camp Young is the placejust where I dont know.

Oil well in New Mexico.
(taken from train.)

Oct. 4. Finished my gun-classes
yesterday and did O.K. had to burn
the midnite oil a few times to keep
ahead of the questions.
Oct. 12. Enroute to California. We
are passing thru New Mexico now
and all we see is plains and flat top
hills in the distance
