Sept. 8- Was in charge of quarters
after lunch today- that’s what a
corporal gets instead of K.P.- lots
better than K.P. too as it is just
signing the men out when they go
to town and when they return
again.

Near De Ridder, La.
I was in charge of quarters this day
and here is first Sarg. with payroll for
month.

Sept. 10- Near Newton, La.
We are on the second problem
now- started at 7 a.m.- we are on a
halt now and I just shot down a
nosey plane. [ I ] am at the gun on
guard.
Jasper, Tex.
Its a dry town.

Haven’t had a bath in a weekhowever- did have a change of
clean clothes. Now I understand
why Harry said they fall right in a
creek if they pass one
