July 4- The list came out for the 10th. And as
luck would have it I am not on[e] of them. They
are putting the names in a hat and picking the
number to go.
July 4- Bud was in the hospital for
several weeks with yellow
jaunders and is glad now to be
back working again- yes glad.
There are plenty of pretty nurses
at the hospital and they all have a
rating of second lieutenant and as
Bud says- whoever heard of a
soldier kissing a second
lieutenant.

July 8- Was called for a class in radio
today. It may last an hour and just gave
us a brief outline of how the sets are
used.
Friend Nick is going home to Astonia on
the 10th.
Hope I get in the bunch on the 20th.

According to our Captain the war
department says that every soldier gets a
furlough after three months so it doesn’t
necessarily mean that we will go overseas
when we return.
